Dream Team Group Class: Basics and Foundation Tune-Up

Dream Team Group Class (Basics and Foundation Tune-Up)

While private sessions provide a personalized plan and precise guidance, this group class adds clarity, structure, and real-world practice. It gives owners the opportunity to improve their handling and timing, while getting consistent reps in a supportive group of others with similar goals.

This class helps you:

  • Build stronger, clearer communication with your dog

  • Create calmer, more fulfilling walks with structure and purpose

  • Improve impulse control and focus around distractions

  • Reduce and prevent reactivity patterns with better skills and strategy

  • Prepare for AKC-style expectations when it fits your dog’s level

In this class, we rotate and refine foundations such as:

  • Markers, engagement, and release cues (name recognition, eye contact, and focus around distractions)

  • Handler mechanics and leash handling (how to hold and use the leash without creating confusion)

  • Loose-leash walking fundamentals (reducing pulling patterns and improving connection)

  • Foundational obedience (e.g., touch, sit, down, come, place, drop/out)

  • Canine body language (learning to read and understand your dog’s communication in more complex scenarios)

  • Positive reinforcement strategy (treats, toys, praise—how to reward with purpose)

  • Use of Play, Games and mental stimulation (activities that increase engagement and build problem-solving skills)

  • Strategies for preventing common problem such as nipping, jumping, and excessive barking.

  • Owner education (learning process, clear communication, and short effective training sessions)

  • Training formulas, methods and use of the 3 E’s, 3 C’s, and 3 D’, timing, shaping, luring, play-based reinforcement, and your core frameworks)

  • Structure and routine to support calm behavior at home and on walks

By covering these points, dog owners can build on a clear and strong foundation, refine their dog’s behavior, and introduce more advanced skills to further strengthen their relationship and enhance their dog’s training.

This group class serves as the essential “practice field” for your private sessions, helping you build on what you learn one-on-one, prevents backsliding, and closes gaps that limit progress towards more advance goals.
